WELCOME TO RAFIKI CAMPS AND LODGES
FOLLOW THE GREAT WILDEBEEST MIGRATION
Rafiki Luxury Camps & Lodges is meticulously crafted to deliver the friendliest, most intimate, and luxurious safari camp experience imaginable, while immersing you in the unparalleled wildlife wonders of the Serengeti ecosystem. With three main camps strategically positioned across the Serengeti—Rafiki Luxury Camps & Lodges – Orangi in the central Serengeti, Rafiki Luxury Camps & Lodges – Kisuni in the Ndutu region, and Rafiki Luxury Camps & Lodges – Njia in the northern Serengeti—we offer year-round access to prime locations that cater to every season’s highlights.

OUR TENTS
We provide an unrivalled vantage point for observing and photographing wildlife throughout the year. This is especially true during the pinnacle of nature’s spectacles: the Great Migration, where over a million wildebeest thunder across the plains from the Serengeti into Kenya’s Masai Mara between July and October. Whether you’re at our central Orangi camp for central herd movements, Kisuni in Ndutu for the calving season’s drama (December to March), or Njia in the north for those epic river crossings, each location ensures you’re at the heart of the action.

Luxury in the middle of nowhere
This lodge was very luxurious after long, wonderful, dusty days in the Central Serengeti on game watching drives. Manager could not have been more helpful when I needed to have some business papers printed, which he did twice for me at no charge. All staff were friendly and kind and fun to be around. The food was great, in a stunning stone and wood restaurant setting. Don’t miss the opportunity to talk to any of the staff about their own background in this wonderful country. A very kind lady washed our road-weary clothes by hand and dried them in fresh air before returning the following afternoon. We had one night of torrential rain with thunder and lightening, which made the escorted walk to and from dinner extra exciting! Lions roared and hyenas did what they do during the night, what a special lullaby. The bagged lunches are a cut above the usual “hot lunches” we had and ate at crowded picnic grounds. The bagged lunch gave us a lot more flexibility as to when and where to have lunch- even in the vehicle under a lion’s tree.

Best location
Rafiki Lodge is located right in the serengeti where you can hear and see animals right from your lodge. The rooms are luxurious and have everything you need. There is a bath tub with a spectacular view and an outdoor shower (aswell as an indoor) if you want a natural experience. The team are amazing, always attentive and very approachable and friendly. The food was lovely with plenty of options. Such a great stay, would highly recommend.

Imagine stepping onto your private veranda at any of our camps—whether the river-facing decks at Njia, the acacia-shaded spots at Orangi, or the wildflower-dotted vistas at Kusini—and gazing out over the Mara River or vast savannas, one of Africa’s most breathtaking expanses of golden grasslands stretching toward the distant Rift Valley escarpment. Here, migrating wildebeest congregate en masse on the riverbanks, their grunts echoing as they prepare for the perilous journey into the Masai Mara. As night falls, the symphony of the wild envelops you: the deep bellows of hippos wallowing in the waters, the eerie whoops of hyenas prowling the shadows, and the occasional roar of lions claiming their territory—all audible from the comfort of your luxurious tent. These animals are often mere meters away, underscoring the thrill of true wilderness immersion. For your safety and peace of mind, our red-robed Maasai warriors—stoic guardians steeped in centuries-old traditions—escort you back to your tent after evening gatherings. Picture evenings spent around a crackling campfire under a canopy of stars, sharing stories with fellow travelers and guides, before retiring to find a hot water bottle tucked into your bed, warding off the cool African night. This thoughtful touch is just one element of the warmth that defines Rafiki. The Rafiki experience transcends the ordinary hotel or lodge stay; it’s a profound sensation of becoming one with the landscape, forging deep, meaningful connections with the untamed animals and the resilient Maasai people who call this land home. It’s about sharing passions—yours for adventure, theirs for preservation—and creating significant, life-altering moments in the core of one of the planet’s most celebrated wildlife reserves. Across our three camps, this ethos remains consistent: personalized service, eco-friendly luxury, and authentic interactions that leave you transformed.
